About the Microsoft logo
The Microsoft logo is a two-by-two grid of flat squares in orange-red (#F35325), green (#81BC06), blue (#05A6F0) and yellow (#FFBA08), separated by thin gaps. The colours come from the Windows logo of the time and have been used to stand for four major products: Windows (blue), Office (orange), Xbox (green) and Bing (yellow). Introduced in 2012, it replaced the italic wordmark used since 1987. With no gradients or outlines, the symbol stays legible as a tiny icon and works just as well at the size of a building.
