About the Apple logo
The Apple logo is a solid black apple silhouette with a single bite taken from its right side and a leaf tilted above the top. The outline is built from smooth, balanced curves, and the bite keeps the shape from being mistaken for another round fruit. Apple dropped the rainbow stripes of Rob Janoff's 1977 design in 1999 and has used single-colour versions of the same shape ever since. With no letters and no detail inside the shape, it works on a device, a screen or a storefront at any size.
